Introduction
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!
My name is Ashley Singer and I am a special education teacher. This year I will be working with students in Kindergarten and 1st Grade. At Lincoln School, there is a team of teachers and therapists that work together to educate and improve the lives of students who have been found eligible for special education services. One of those services is the resource program. In the program, your child will receive support in the classroom and/or be pulled out at a specific time period during the school day. My main objective is to help your child improve on his/her individual goals as stated in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
I attended Northern Illinois University, where I received my Bachelor's degree as a Learning Behavior Specialist - Type 1. I started working in District 103 as a 7th grade special education teacher at George Washington Middle School. In 2013, I moved over to Lincoln Elementary and have loved working with the younger students.
When I am not at school, I enjoy working at my local park district where I work in the special recreation department, taking my two dogs, Izzy and Snoopy, for a walk, or reading a good book.
