One School One Book

Last year, Lincoln joined the many schools in our nation doing "One School One Book," a program that encourages families to read together at home. Our kick off was February 13. Each family received a copy of Stuart Little along with instructions and a calendar. Please enjoy reading as a family!

Let's celebrate Red Ribbon Week!

Lincoln School will celebrate Red Ribbon Week with "YOLO: Be Drug Free." This week is dedicated to drug abuse prevention and education for all students. We will have activities for the students as well as spirit days:
• Monday 10/24 is “Too Smart to Start” and students may dress as a nerd.
• Tuesday 10/25 is “Sock It to Drugs” and students may wear crazy or mismatched socks with a regular uniform.
• Wednesday 10/26 is “Wake Up to a Drug-Free World” and students may wear a pajama top with regular uniform bottoms.
• Thursday 10/27 is “Dress For Success: Don’t Let Drugs Determine Your Future” and students may wear professional attire.
• Friday 10/28 is “Wear Red Day” and students may wear a solid red shirt with regular uniform bottoms.
If you choose not to participate in any of the above spirit days, a regular uniform must be worn. Participating students will be entered in to daily raffles for "red" prizes.

Kindergarten & Language Screening

August 8 and 9 all incoming kindergarten students are scheduled for skill and language testing. Please refer to your appointment stickers from our April kindergarten round-up. You and your child will need to be present, and everyone should come in and out of door #1 on Shields Avenue.

Spring Testing Information

Spring has sprung, and so has our spring benchmark testing and PARCC. Students in grades 2-5 will take their spring NWEA test April 4-14. All students will take their AIMSweb tests April 11-14. Students in grades 3-5 will participate in PARCC April 18-May 13. You can support your child during the testing windows by ensuring they have a full night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, arrive to school on time, do not leave school early, and encourage them to give best effort. Thank you to PTA who will be providing snacks for students during PARCC testing.
