Parent-Teacher Conferences are November 12

Parent-Teacher Conferences are November 12, and every teacher is looking forward to meeting with you. To help prepare you for the conference you have scheduled, keep these following tips in mind to make the most of the short time you have to discuss your child with the teacher.
* Ask your child what he/she would like you to talk about with the teacher, ask your child what he/she thinks the teacher will say, ask about the things he/she likes or doesn’t like; his/her problems and successes, and let him/her know that after the conference, you will discuss what the teacher shared.
* Arrive on time.
* Bring a written list of questions so you do not forget to voice your concerns.
* Realize that your child may exhibit different behaviors at school than at home.
* Stay positive.
* Ask for examples of your child’s work to document teacher statements.
* Discuss specific strengths of your child as a learner.
* Ask the teacher for specific ways in which you can help your child at home.
* Help set two to four specific goals for the child for the next grading period.
Most importantly, remember that you are the most important person in your child’s life. If you will not be able to attend your scheduled time or are running late, please call the main office at 708-783-4600.
